Actually, there’s a decent chance Françoise Boivin could win in Gatineau. She was the Liberal MP from 2004 to 2006 and was quite appreciated, but she was defeated by the Bloc’s Richard Nadeau in 2006. She switched to the NDP early this year and appears to have attracted quite a few voters. If she’s able to get a sufficient number of 2006 Bloc and Liberal voters, she could very well win it. If not enough Liberals follow her, Nadeau will be reelected.

I’m voting in this riding, and I was thinking of voting Bloc, but I must admit that I like Boivin, so right now I’m not so sure anymore. On the other hand, Nadeau is also a decent MP.

The NDP is also targeting Hull-Aylmer and is running their (former?) Quebec leader Pierre Ducasse in the riding, but I’d be surprised if he won.
